Welcome to Clare Hudson Personal Training

Cheshire based Personal Trainer, covering Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Bollington, Knutsford, Poynton, Prestbury, and Wilmslow.

Clare Hudson (Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor)
Clare has over 12 years experience in the fitness industry and is a fully qualified advanced fitness instructor with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs Level 3). Clare is a qualified A1 Assessor for Fitness, and a fully qualified GP Referral Instructor, working closely with clients who have specific medical conditions. As well as freelance personal training, Clare also teaches a variety of classes at Total Fitness, Wilmslow Leisure Centre and the Royal London, including aerobics, Body Attack, Boxercise, Spinning, circuits, Body Blitz and core stability classes.

Clare enjoys a very active lifestyle to keep fit and healthy, and likes to lead by example, including running regular half marathons.

My Background
I have worked in the fitness industry for over 12 years, first as a gym instructor and then onto senior and advanced instruction and personal training. I have also worked as a gym manager for a large fitness chain in Manchester. I have completed many half marathons and other competions over the years and used to compete at a high level in showjumping.

I am qualified to REPs Level 3 (Membership No. R0002229), and i'm also a qualified A1 Assessor for students who are taking their fitness qualifications at Macclesfield College, and the Cheadle & Marple Campus. I am currently a tutor at college for Gym Instructor and Circuit Training courses.

Whether it be weight loss, toning, sculpting or general fitness, I can give you the guidance and knowledge to achieve your goals. Being healthy is not about spending hours in the gym, but by adopting a healthy balanced lifestyle that will keep the weight off. To achieve maximum results, it's all about educating the individual with the correct eating patterns, combined with a structured and progressive exercise plan.

Learn how to make small lifestyle changes and have realistic goals. A Lifestyle Consultation may help you with combating fatigue, depression, lack of general motivation, diet adherence, and work / life balance.

Weight Management and Nutrition
Nutrition is one of the main aspects of healthy living but is often overlooked by clients. This is due to lack of knowledge, working longer hours at work, family commitments etc. Many people are under the misconception that if they exercise they can eat what they want. Unfortunately this is not always the case. The body needs the right nutrients and vitamins. By going for long periods of time without food, this will lead to overeating, sugar cravings, low blood sugar, and lack of energy. In turn this reduces the metabolism making weightloss harder. During exercise the body needs the right type of food to encourage fat burning and avoid muscle and protein stores from being used instead. This combined with the correct training will produce significant results, including weight loss and fat loss, muscle definition, and keeping the weight off permanently.

As part of the service to help you lose weight, I will also help you to read and understand food labels, improve your knowledge of all the food groups, assist you with your food shopping (even accompany you to the supermarket). I will also analyse the contents of your fridge and recommend changes where suitable.

Running Training
As a regular runner myself, including running for a club in the past, I am experienced with various types of running programmes to get the most out of your workout. From a beginner who wants to do a first 5k to an advanced runner who is wanting to gear up for a marathon.

Running is one of the best ways to lose weight, increase fitness levels fast, and best of all, it’s inexpensive (make sure you get a good pair of trainers before you start). All running programmes start from a walk/run principle. Gradually start to double the time on the run effort and half on the walk, until you can run your desired distance without stopping. Progression is the key to quality training and by using fartlek and interval training as part of your programmes you will be up and running in no time!

Circuit Training
I also take a weekly circuit training class for a private company in Alderley Edge. This involves use of their onsite gym and group training within the grounds. Each week we vary the exercises, from a bootcamp style circuit, interval training and distance running. Circuit training is one of the best training exercises to do as this not only works every major muscle group, but also increases fitness levels faster than most other workouts. A reduction in weight is certainly guaranteed with this style of training!

Pre & Post Natal Fitness
Specific training for pre/post natal fitness. Keeping fit during pregnancy is essential for the mother’s health and will help her to cope physically with the demands put upon the body. Group classes or one-to-one training are available.

PUMPFX Training
A 60 minute Studio based resistance workout using bars, discs and bodyweight for a maximum full body workout by using the best exercises like squats, lunges, chest press, rows etc.

Functional Exercises / Training
This type of training leads to better muscular balance, joint stability and posture with emphasis on abdominal strength and generally reducing risk of injury. It's also far more benefical to our everyday activities, therefore enhancing performance from the elite athlete to the average gym user.

Swimming Instruction
As an experienced swimming teacher I have taught lessons within the leisure centres and privately on a one to one basis. This ranges from children, teens and older adults. From beginner to advanced, all ages catered for, and all levels of abilities.

Personal Training Prices

I offer a choice of personal training packages with various block booking options. Alternatively, you can purchase training sessions on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Individual Sessions ~ £38 each
Block booking of   5 Sessions ~ £175 (£35 each)
Block booking of 10 Sessions ~ £330 (£33 each)
Group training with two or more people are priced at £25 per person

Training sessions are one hour duration unless otherwise agreed.

FREE Health and Lifestyle Assessment when followed-up with at least one session of Personal Training or Nutritional Advice.
